Oil on canvas.
This painting has a whole story!
Two years ago, I went en plein air at the moment when the lavender was in full bloom! That time I wore a straw hat for the first time. As always, I started the work in my usual realistic manner, but suddenly, in the process, my brush began to move in a completely different way and bizarre lines and shapes began to be drawn on the airtight. At that moment, I seemed to feel some extraneous presence ...
Everything around me reminded me of Van Gogh's favorite landscapes, dry wheat, lacy clouds, curly cypresses and my lavender, as if by magic, spun in a dance called "Van Gogh's Mood".
Since then, you probably noticed that en plein air I always wear a hat and my paintings have acquired an impressionistic note.

We had the pleasure of meeting Ksenia this past week at the Venetian fortress in Rethymno where she was holding an exhibit.. Her work is beautiful and she is a very talented. Artist We Purchased a couple prints and I have gone on her website now and gotten one more. The oil painting of the lavender fields below the mountains is exquisite and I am still thinking of buying that! If you have the opportunity to see her work, don’t miss it!
